TWP HERS and ACE scholarships help women advance

The Women’s Place (TWP) is committed to expanding opportunities for women's growth, leadership, and power at the university. TWP grants scholarships for leadership training offered by Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) and the American Council on Education (ACE).

This academic year, five women received scholarships to enhance their leadership skills and help prepare them for advancement: Susan Olesik, chair and Dow Professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry; Simone Drake, associate professor, Department of African American and African Studies; Krista Scott, director of Undergraduate Recruitment, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences; and Stephanie Brown, assistant dean, Newark Campus, have completed the ACE programs. Cynthia Carnes, senior associate dean, College of Pharmacy, completed the HERS program.
