President and Provost's Leadership Institute graduates ready for advancement
Congratulations to the 2019-20 cohort of The Women's Place President and Provost's Leadership Institute for completing this 16-month program.
The President and Provost's Leadership Institute (PPLI) focuses on long-term faculty leadership development. The primary goals of the institute are to create a pool of potential leaders from groups that traditionally have been underrepresented in key leadership roles and to develop leaders who can create a culture that is supportive of all faculty members by focusing on the nature of effective leadership.
In addition to the 2019-20 cohort, almost 200 Ohio State faculty have completed the institute. Members of the most recent and previous cohorts have the following to say about their experience:
"I was interviewed last year and asked 'What’s the best thing that’s happened to you in 18 years at OSU?' Without hesitation I replied, 'PPLI and my subsequent lasting relationship with the Women’s Place.' TWP has helped me find out who I really am and what my role is in the Academy."
"My work with the PPLI was instrumental in my ability to initiate and manage the work of an ad hoc Committee on Anti-Racism this past year. We developed an action plan, and we have made a number of significant changes in departmental operations this year."
"I have become more aware of my own strengths and of ways to manage people with different strengths. It's been eye opening to see the effects of putting the principles into practice both with my own research team and at the department level."
"After graduating from the program, I now get asked to take on leadership roles, solve problems, develop or move on projects."
"I don't know of anything else in my academic career that made such a big difference to me."
The members of the 2019-20 cohort listed below have completed an in-depth program making them uniquely qualified for higher education administration at Ohio State and ready to cultivate a culture in which all can thrive. Please consider these trained and motivated faculty, along with previous graduates, for leadership positions in your units and colleges.
