Achievements of OSU women celebrated at 2022 Annual Reception
About 100 staff and faculty from across the university attended The Women's Place 2022 Women of Achievement Reception to honor Ohio State women's accomplishments, those who are new employees, and women who have been promoted during this academic year.
President Kristina M. Johnson and Senior Vice Provost for Student Academic Excellence Charlene Gilbert delivered remarks that recognized the essential contributions of women at Ohio State and the importance of continuing to attract and retain this workforce. President Johnson also highlighted her office's ongoing partnership with The Women’s Place and the President and Provost’s Council on Women, chaired by Christine O’Malley.
Yolanda Zepeda, assistant vice provost, Office of Diversity and Inclusion also addressed the group. She noted that the reception is an occasion for celebrating our collective work towards promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion at Ohio State.
The annual reception, a tradition at Ohio State, was interrupted by the pandemic in 2020 and 2021. "Our ability to return to an in-person reception gives us cause to celebrate, not only our professional accomplishments, but also our individual and collective resilience in the face of challenge," said Andreá Williams, director of The Women’s Place.
