2017 Glass Breakers recognized

The President and Provost's Council on Women (PPCW), which is supported by the executive staff of The Women's Place, recognized five women as the 2017 Ohio State Glass Breakers. Glass Breakers are successful women at the university who have made extraordinary achievements and use those accomplishments to improve workplace culture and uplift women across the university. The following women received this recognition:

  • Gail Marsh, chief strategy officer for the Wexner Medical Center
  • Shelly Martin, manager, patient transport at the Wexner Medical Center
  • Maggie Merry, chief administrative officer in the College of Pharmacy
  • Kay Bea Jones, professor in the Knowlton School of Architecture
  • Randi Love, associate professor in the College of Public Health

As women navigate the workforce and career development, it's often said that "you can't be what you can't see." That's why PPCW shines a spotlight on successful women at Ohio State who have made extraordinary achievements and use those accomplishments to improve workplace culture and uplift women across the university.

President Michael V. Drake's 2020 Vision for Ohio State includes a charge for greater diversity and inclusion. In their daily work, the five women recognized as Glass Breakers live that mission.

"I am grateful that these five remarkable women lend their talents to advancing Ohio State in unique and meaningful ways," President Drake said. "They create a positive impact in the lives of so many in our campus community, and passionately encourage others to do the same."
