Nolan Harshaw

Nolan Harshaw works as a graduate administrative assistant (GAA) for The Women’s Place and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning in conjunction with the Knowlton School of Architecture and College of Engineering. Before becoming a full-time student, he worked as a high school math teacher and most recently as the academic counselor for Ohio State’s Upward Bound Program. In addition to his GAA responsibilities and classes, he is also an intern at the City of Upper Arlington development office 20 hours a week.

His current focus is on community development, urban design, and geographic information systems (GIS).

Projects

Guernsey County Hazard-Mitigation Plan – Sustainability Studio AU’18

His role for this studio was to organize the two public involvement meetings that were located in Cambridge, OH, as well as research and write the plan for Landslides and Invasive Species.

Central Ohio Greenways Strategic Implementation FrameworkTransportation Studio SP ‘19

For this studio, he worked on several different parts of the framework plan, but a majority of his work was spent on graphics, loop design, and writing specifically for the Franklinton Loop section. This plan was presented to the Central Ohio Greenways Board on April 22, 2019.
