In Conversation: Pathways and Advice for Women of Color Faculty Entering University Administration

As women of color faculty continue to chart pathways into university administration, they enter a space that can be isolating and, in many instances, without mentorship. This one-day, Ohio State-sponsored workshop is designed to provide women of color faculty who are either entering or considering higher education administration the opportunity to hear and be in conversation with experienced women of color administrators from a diverse representation of institutions. This workshop will not only offer strategic guidance on pathways and decision making that is unique to the experiences and needs of women of color, but it will also offer the opportunity for community building and networking.

Facilitators include:

• Dr. Carol Henderson (University of Delaware), vice provost for Diversity and former chair of the Department of Black American Studies
• Dr. Toni King (Denison University), associate professor and director of the Center for Black Studies and former associate provost for Faculty Diversity
• Dr. Valerie Lee (The Ohio State University), professor emerita and former vice provost for Diversity and Inclusion, vice president of Outreach and Engagement, chair of Department of African-American and African Studies

Event includes continental breakfast, lunch and a group dinner at 5:30pm.
