Background The Women's Place (TWP) was created in 1997 as a mechanism to connect all OSU-affiliated women and amplify their collective voices. From January 1998 until January 2000, The Women's Place focused on creating an oversight Task Force and developing a web site. Members of the Task Force developed the final proposal for The Women's Place and assured its success through the University's consultation and review processes. In January 2000, a Director was hired to develop the infrastructure for The Women's Place. This infrastructure is being designed to connect women, gather data about women, and serve as a clearinghouse for services and information needed by women. The Women's Place also serves as an advocate for issues of importance to OSU women and serves as an advisory resource for development of University policies affecting women. |
